SAMUI: More than 300 sailors from Asia and beyond are in this island resort for the 17th edition of the Samui Regatta. The finale of the 2017-18 Asian Yachting Grand Prix season is being held at the Centara Grand Beach Resort Samui on Chaweng Beach. The event began yesterday as Thailand's THA72 got off to a perfect start in their title defence with three straight wins in IRC Zero. Singapore's Wind Sikher, the 2016 winners, were second overall and ready to take advantage of any slip-up by THA72. In IRC One, Loco of Singapore beat all opponents and sat comfortably at the top of the standings with three wins.
